Rasabali is one of the chapan bhog of Puri Jagannath Temple. It is famously prepared as a sweet dish in Odisha, made by deep frying chanaand then dipped in sweetened milk. This is a mouthwatering and a tasty recipe.
Ingredients
1 cup channa (cottage cheese)
3 cups milk
1 tbsp sugar powder
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp fennel seeds crushed
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp ghee
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp fine semolina
1 black cardamom crush
Steps
Combine the chana,semolina, sugar powder in a mixing bowl and knead it thoroughly to a smooth and soft dough.
After 5 minutes knead again for some time. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into small pudi, keep aside. Heat ghee and oil in a pan and fry both sides till golden brown.
Simultaneously boil the milk on low flame,
Add sugar. Add fennel seed crushed and crushed black cardamom in it, bring it to a boil, by stirring frequently.
Then drop the fried chana pieces. Boil it for 1 minute. Garnish with crushed fennel seeds, delicious rashaballi is ready to serve.
